It gives us pleasure to note that Rimantas Bakas from Lithuanian Energy Institute (LEI), took this splendind opportunity and presented DecarbonDHS during a seminar of the “Municipal Scale Carbon Based Energy Equilibrium” project, funded by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region 2021-2027 Programme, which was organized on Nov 12, 2024 in Tauragė District Municipality (Fig. 1, 2 )
Tauragė District Municiplity is one of the leading Green Municipalities in Lithuania with extremely high share of renewables in their energy balance. LEI has provided its first results of the municipal energy system modelling platform developed during the Energy Equilibrium project for Tauragė District municipality, and importantly – presented also DecarbonDHS project, funded by Interreg South Baltic Programme 2021-2027 on that occassion.
Representatives from Tauragė Municipality and local municipal companies, actively involved in energy production and usage, discussed Tauragė’s initiatives as a green municipality. They explored the current state and future prospects of the region’s heating sector, along with the development and outlook for eco-transport in the Tauragė region. The seminar also hosted an interesting discussion on the challenges that municipalities and their enterprises face in implementing advanced technologies.
