The main topics presented and discussed at the event were related to heat sector in energy transformation plans, current development and prospects in the DH&C sector in Lithuania, low-temperature networks vs. waste heat, synthetic fuel, changes and prospects in sector regulation, hydrogen transportation and production prospectives as well as digitalization solutions.

A dedicated session highlighted EU-funded projects in the field of district heating and cooling realised at the Lithuanian Energy Institute (including programs like LIFE, Erasmus+ and Interreg). This is also where, Rimantas Bakas from LEI presented the DecarbonDHS project, co-financed from the Interreg South Baltic Programme 2021-2027 through the European Regional Development Fund, emphasizing its role in driving sustainable transformation in district heating (Fig. 2).
