On 26 May 2026, representatives of local governments, municipal councils, and public administration from the Pomorskie Region gathered at the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IMP PAN) for a workshop dedicated to energy transition and resilience at the local level (Fig. 1). Participants explored approaches to renewable energy development, digitalisation, and strengthening energy resilience in municipalities. Discussions focused on how local authorities can effectively plan and implement sustainable energy measures while responding to emerging economic and energy challenges.

The event brought together three European projects – DeCrises, DecarbonDHS, and Baltic EnerShift (BES) – to exchange knowledge and promote practical solutions supporting decarbonisation in times of crisis.

A key part of the programme was the presentation of the Municipality of Potęgowo, an Associated Partner of the DeCrises Project and one of Poland’s leading examples of successful renewable energy deployment and energy security (Fig. 3). The municipality shared its experience in implementing innovative solutions and building a resilient local energy system.

The workshop was organised within the framework of the DeCrises Project (Horizon Europe), with contributions from the DecarbonDHS and Baltic EnerShift projects, both funded by the Interreg South Baltic Programme. The event demonstrated the growing cooperation between European initiatives working towards a secure, sustainable, and low-carbon energy future.

The event was supported by the Marshal’s Office of the Pomorskie Voivodeship and the Association of Pomeranian Municipalities.

The organisers would like to thank all participants for their active engagement and valuable discussions.
